The J.F. Costopoulos Foundation, wishing to honor
the presence and contribution of Yannis Costopoulos
in fields beyond banking, organised a celebral exhibition,
between March and May 2024, three years after his death.
The exhibition was hosted at the Benaki Museum of Greek Culture
and was made up of five parts:
Overture, Banker,
Serving culture and society,
A passion for numismatics,
Yatchsman.
The stage-designed setting of the exhibition is inspired by the line
“with wisdom and vision” from “The Free Besieged”
of Dionysios Solomos – a favourite quotation of Yannis Costopoulos.
A frame was thus organised, a “scaffold” to hold up the dream,
a “veil” to keep the private facet of the public man constantly out of view
while leaving room for the viewer’s imagination.
